Oakey Library is home to an extensive Local History Collection managed by the Friends of the Oakey Library.

Oakey Historical Museum houses many artefact's relating to the history of the town and district, and the volunteers there can tell many a story.

Other local and regional history in the flesh is on display at the Museum of Australian Army Flying and the Jondaryan Woolshed open air working museum.
